Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics

 

ALSO® PROVIDER COURSE

This course will be held October 19th & 20th, 2017 from

7:30am-5:00 pm each day.

An educational program designed to enhance cognitive and procedural skills of healthcare professionals to help them manage obstetrical emergencies

 OVERALL COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Discuss ways of improving the management of obstetrical urgencies and emergencies which may help standardize the skills of practicing maternity care providers. 
  • Discuss the importance of utilizing regional maternity care services and identify possible barriers which might limit access. 
  • Successfully complete the course written test and megadelivery testing station.

CME & CNE INFORMATION 

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.

The American Academy of Family Physicians is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. This course offering is approved for ___ contact hours applicable for RN, LPN, or LMHT relicensure. Kansas State Board of Nursing Provider Number; LT0278-0312. This is an advanced level course and may not be suitable for all general continuing nursing education.

This Course has been determined to be a Level 2 classification under the AMA PRA Credit and Classification Guidelines. The AAFP does not certify competence upon completion of the ALSO® Provider Course. 

At the completion of this course and upon receipt of the sponsor’s post-course materials, ALSO program staff will create certificates for all participants. They will also create wallet cards for those who successfully complete both the written and hands-on exams (scoring at least 70% on each). Both will be distributed to participants by the course sponsor.

Cancellation Policy:
We reserve the right to cancel a class. A minimum of 6 participants is required to run a class. In the event that a class would need to be cancelled, due to low enrollment, you will be contacted within a minimum of 3 business days.

In the event of inclement weather, we will attempt to contact you by the telephone number given on your registration form. You may also call the Grant Regional Health Center Switchboard at (608)723-2143.

Please remember that there is limited space in these classes and a cost to provide this education to you. Often there is a waiting list of interested participants. If you are unable to attend a class you have registered for, please notify us within 72 hours to make the space available for another participant. A 50% refund will be given if class materials are returned in reusable condition. Registration fees may be transferred to another person for the same class, or credit for upcoming educational offerings. There will be a $20 processing fee for transfers & cancellations. There will not be any refund for no shows.
