POSITION STATUS/HOURS: 32 hours/week (4 day work week) Monday – Friday, benefit eligible position!

Grant Regional Health Center invites you to a professional and challenging work experience working with an expanding provider of excellent regional health care. We offer support and training as you become familiar with our providers and facilities.

JOB SUMMARY:
The position and successful candidate is a qualified professional skilled in classifying medical data from patient records. The coding practitioner reviews patient health information (PHI) and assigns and sequences codes for each diagnosis and procedure using the universally recognized coding system.
The applicant shall possess the ability to be precise, exact and detail-oriented, and possess excellent editing and time management skills. The individual must have the ability to accept challenge and problem-solve, and demonstrate respect for the confidentiality and security of PHI.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of an Advanced Medical Coding Specialist Program or 2-Year Associate Program. Minimum of two years of experience as a coder in a hospital setting or an equivalent experience with comparable skill set. Anesthesia coding experience preferred. Five years of experience as a coder with eligibility to complete a CCS certification exam or RHIT certified status preferred.
